Automated Microgreens Production
The engine to power ideas and support people.
A fully automated microgreens production system — significantly cheaper to construct than LED-based vertical farms and a fraction of the operating cost. It's optimized for sunlight and uses no plastic trays, so it's better environmentally and needs less from the outside world.
Microgreens are just a plant grown for its first one to three weeks. They carry a high concentration of nutrients and turn a dry grain or seed supply into fast-growing fresh produce — which matters for scalable operations in remote climates and for low-cost, high-quality nutrition generally.
In 2023 I tested a proprietary soil tackifier and a novel grow-through method, since developed into a 10'x100' production system. The intent is to grow surplus as part of the marketing strategy and support food banks, shelters, schools and hospitals in Ontario.
